That is probably the most asked question I get as a maternity photographer. The short answer is between 28-32 weeks when your belly is nice and round but you are still able to move freely.
However, every maternity photoshoot will be different. Besides the portrait session itself, it is important to consider any medical issues, and other factors. We will discuss all the details beforehand and help you pick the best date for your maternity photoshoot.
The last month of pregnancy is always the hardest. You might feel extra uncomfortable and tire more easily, therefore we recommend scheduling your maternity portrait session between 28-32 weeks and have enough energy for all of those poses that help you look and feel amazing! You don’t have to worry about bringing anything to your maternity portrait session. As our client, you’ll have access to our client closet and will be able to choose from our studio’s dresses, fabrics, bodysuits, and accessories to bring out your full potential during your photoshoot.
You may also choose to do any tasteful nude poses where you won’t be wearing anything. Or, we could arrange for a combination of nude poses as well as some poses in maternity photography gowns during your photoshoot. That is one of the things we will be discussing with you during your consultation.
I have great news for you. You don't need to be photogenic or know how to pose. All of our maternity sessions are customized to your specific needs and body type. We will work with you to pose you in the ways that will make you look your best. During your consultation, we’ll go over all of this and talk about the parts of your body that you're not as comfortable with. Don’t worry, I’ll pose you during your session so that you’ll look amazing in all of your maternity photos!
Each session takes about 2 to 3 hours, give or take, includes and an hour of pampering and makeover with our Hair and Makeup Artist. We book a full day specifically for you to give you plenty of time to rest and enjoy the process at your own pace. We’ll help you every step of the way to ensure that you feel comfortable.

Our retouching is a professional standard and detailed, as seen throughout our work, and is included in your session. Our goal is to produce flawless images that look amazing, yet natural.
